Hey guys, I made myself this PC and I've had it for a good year now with no problems and recently after the PC has been shutdown for a while it makes a loud noise when I press the power switch. I would be a bit more worried if it was permanent but it sorts itself out on the second boot.

Any chance any of you know what's wrong and how to sort it?

Here's the sound it makes:

That sounds like a bad harddrive or a blocked/congested fan. Try to find the source of the problem so you can fix it.

Open up your computer and if it is coming from the hard drives then that means your hdd is failing and you will need to get a replacement. If it is the fans clean them very well and make sure nothing is getting in the way of the fan from spinning. The fan motor might also be going bad which means you'll need to replacements too. Either way it probably means you need to replace something.

If it isn't either of those two then comment what it is and I might be able to find a fix for it.
