It might be your internet. If you can take your system else where and download the update

HTC wrote I just got the xbox one day one edition and I'm having trouble installing the day one update. Ive tried wireless connection mobile hotspot connection and ethernet, also reset my modem and cleared the xbox cache. Anyone else having this problem or have a solution?

I did not see this. Don't use mobile hotspot use your home internet

Download the update from Xbox on your computer, put it on a USB stick, then stick it in the console.

Seems like your connection is the problem, I'd try it wired into your home internet. No wifi, no hotspot, no bridged connection.

The day one update and all the title updates are allot bigger than the 360, so beware
