Ive hadent run into any problems like that i mean i tried xbox games dvds and two blue ray movies worked good for me and i put in some dvds and blue rays that i had for a few years old and it read it i dont realy think ur xbox has a faulty drive cause if it woudnt read any maybe the codeing on the disc or a softwere issue on the xbox one not letting users watch all blueray movies i think its a bug maybe let me know if the movie still doesnt work cause there was a a xbox one soft were update yesterday that fixed some bugs so try now and still no good probally a bug that hasnt been dealt with yet PS THIS IS JUST WHAT I THINK COUID BE THE ISSUE so dont get ur hopes up and also i will let u know if i run into any probelms in the futrue .

This was actually the first thing that I tried, I tested out 7 or 8 Blu-ray discs and I ran into no issues at all. They all ran perfectly.

That's odd, it clearly not the drive because it's reads some discs. I would contact Microsoft.

Probably an issue with the disk as apposed to the actual console. Putting your disks shiny side down is never a good idea.
If it is something with the console it will most likely be adjusted in an app update.

I contacted them and they said its bad coding on the disc which i know is bullshit because i cal clearly watch the movie on my other bluray player
