i really depends on the gamer, i love gears. i have every single one and still play them all till this day. if you like the campaign of marcus, dom, etc. i'd pick 3.. Judgement is only good for Versus, Horde, Etc.. i like the story behind the campaign, stick to 3 ;)

Gears 3 is gay as hell I would never get gears 3

Gears of War 3 is so much better.
The feel, the design, and so much more is what I love about GoW 3.
I have Gow Judgment and dislike it.
They tried to change it too much. I do like how you can drop from heights, but overall I hate it.
They took out Horde, Wallbouncing and other techniques, just arent the same.

Definitely go Gears 3 between the two. Gears 3 will give you the REAL sense of how brutal Gears multiplayer can get, not the garbage that Judgment gave us. Not to mention everything from the campaign to the soundtrack is significantly better. I sold Judgment after 3 days, where as Gears 3 I've gone through 3 discs out of so much use (and one rage). If you find you enjoy the franchise, go back to its roots at Gears 1. The online community is still very present there, can't say the same for Gears 2.

Gears of war 3 is the way to go, the game play is much better and so are the maps, the speed in judgement is extremely slow and the new equipment they added to the game is unnecessary.
