I'm in the same boat as you man, one of my nephews spilled some soda on the guide button and its really sticky, happened weeks ago and been trying to find something to help me out too.

I seen a video on YouTube where some dude puts some hot water on a toothbrush and keeps on rubbing the guide button but it didn't help me out much.

*EDIT!!!!

OH CRAPP!! IT WORKED. The first time i tried it like a week ago I guess I didn't do it very well but right now I just tried it AGAIN since we were talking about it and IT WORKED!

HERE IS THE VIDEO -

I'm writing in caps so you can see. It won't screw up your controller, I promise. Well, I just went over the Guide button and that was it and BOOM!! It clicks just fine now! :)

You ever decide to use it? If you're a bit hesitant because it requires you putting a bit of water on your controller, don't be. It will definitely help you out. It's totally easier than opening up your controller and trying to fix it from the inside.

1. Spam the buttons for a period of time they
will eventually unstick.

2. Take your controller apart and clean the buttons.

That's the only way you can do it.

Yeah opening the controllers up might be something which sounds difficult and tedious, but it really almost couldn't be easier. Only issue is that someone of the older controllers have the tamper proof torx screws, so you might need to go out and get a special bit. But after that it's smooth sailing.
