You might have disabled the wireless card. Look down at the task bar near the system clock, does the network icon have a yellow triangle on it? Or does it have a red X on it? This is assuming you have a Windows pc, if you have a Mac I can't help you.

How far are you, in a room next to the adapter? Or through 3 floors/brick walls/Etc..?

Make sure your WIFI adapters' drivers are up to date.

I am near enough certain the drivers are up to date and I am right above it but it has never been affected before.

Well it sounds just like you're simply too far away from the router. You might want to look online for an external wireless card which has a better range. I had an old laptop a few years back which had trouble getting a signal as well, so I bought [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] external wireless adapter which worked beautify. It's pretty inexpensive as well, I remember almost having full bars every time whereas the integrated wireless adapter only got one bar if I was lucky. I mean you could try updating the drivers to see if that helps out at all, but when I had this same problem nothing worked besides the adapter I linked above.

Good luck.
