Okay I'm about to build soon and I was wondering should I buy an anti-static wrist strap. My high school is an IT school , so I know all the safety precautions with the sensitive parts and I was told by my friends who already built that I won't need the strap.the place I'm building in the floor is hardwood and the surface is granite with the just right temperature and humidity

You don't need one. Touch the case once or twice while building and you'll be just fine. They're nothing but a money grab and you don't need them unless working on military grade circuitry, which you aren't.
