In this rant I am just explaining why I disagree with the whole "Footballers/Athletes are overpaid" and "Firefighters should earn more" Arguments, so please if you do disagree with my view post about the argument not pile abuse at me.

Reasons why I disagree with the "Footballers/Athletes are overpaid" stuff is because of many reasons. Many of which people know but still decide to overlook the most simple facts and them themselves don't do as much as they could do.

Governments pay for the wages of Firefighters, doctors and Soldiers. The government doesn't pay footballers wages, the clubs owners do. Morally people who save lives SHOULD get paid more, Morally. But really over paid footballers or athletes actually have a large mounts of their wages taken off them from tax. Do you know how much tax gets taken off them? 22% in England. So for someone earning 100,000 a week will lose 22,000 in tax. And that pays for their wages. I know everyone gets taxed but they do more than just pay tax like everyone else. They provide entertainment which of course is taxed. So all the T.V shows, Live games, Shirt sales and ticket sales ALL get taxed because of athletes. So they generate tax money in more than one way.

Then when I walk down the local shopping centre I see these Help for Heroes and Donate to the army people advertising what ever charity they may be advertising and people just walk straight past them. And I bet only 20% of the people that will look at this post actively donates the 5 or $5 that they ask for. So as well as generating large amounts of tax money for the government they also donate large amounts of money to charity. So why do people still complain?

Because lets be honest, lets say the governments actually raised their wages. The price of the most simplest foods will go up. Products like bread and biscuits will have tax applied on them, increasing their prices and everything will turn for the worst. So theoretically, raising the wages of soldiers and fire-fighters will make everything worst for nearly everyone.

Just keep in mind, athletes income has NOTHING to do with the governments apart from how much of it is taken off them.

*This is my opinion so i will just ask again, keep opinions on topic, not abuse at me for my views.

"footballers or athletes actually have a large mounts of their wages taken off them from tax" - Ordinary working people have a large % of their wages taken off them from tax too. It also affects ordinary people a lot more because they're on a lot less wages.

"I see these Help for Heroes and Donate to the army people advertising what ever charity they may be" - They're probably advertising Help for Heroes and pleading with people to make donations mate.

"they also donate large amounts of money to charity." - People who earn more will tend to donate more, it's how it works. It doesn't show them as special fabulous people who are not overpaid..

"So theoretically, raising the wages of soldiers and fire-fighters will make everything worst for nearly everyone." - Our soldiers risk their lives in the name of freedom and democracy. I'm not sure you're fully aware of the sacrifices former soldiers and current soldiers have made. They ABSOLUTELY 100% deserve a pay-rise because their current pay for the job they do is disgusting.

Did I mention I feel they're overpaid?

inb4hate, my uncle and his two sons are in the army. You can't say "oh they fight for freedom" ext, they choose to. Did someone come banging at their door demanding it? No, they chose to fight, they knew the wages and they knew all the risks. Why should because a bunch of radical "patriots" whom really have no idea of which they are speaking, increase their wages. If they increased that, farmers, geologists, scientists would all demand more, you know why? They all do the same, they do things that we need.

Footballers/Athletes entertain BILLIONS world wide, and these BILLIONS pay to come see their team/athlete compete. It is much more than sport for some people, and they pay good money to see it. That is why they get so much money, a 70,000+ member stadium at 30gbp a ticket gets a lot of income

I agree, i honestly feel that if someone themselves don't donate to the charities they should have no right to complain
