extreme cpu with a 100 pound video card, no.

it will suck for gaming.

Well the CPU Is overkill for gaming but will do. The GPU Is horrible and will bottleneck you so much in game not worth getting.
Im taking it this is a pre built.

downgrade cpu and upgrade graphics card. spend as much on graphics card as you can

change the CPU to an i5 4670K* and upgrade the GPU to a 280X or if you have good cooling then a 290/290X

* Intel i7 CPU's are NOT needed for gaming, they are only useful for high end multimedia and extreme multitasking.
