This might seem really silly. I'm a little worried that I could receive jail time if i used the dns to get dlc...could i be sued money or anything? Idk if I want to use it

Yes you are correct you will receive 24 Years in Prison for use of illegal ways to think you really are going to go to jail.

Lol, the only thing that can happen is a Profile/Console ban depending on how many Offences you've had in the past on your xbox.
