Specs, graphics, etc. alone don't make games good. If you don't think someone's a gamer because they play different games, you need to grow up.
I think playing BF4 at max settings on my PC is just as fun as playing Final Fantasy Tactics and Golden Sun games with emulators.

So that's all that matter's right? Not the .. you know .. gameplay, story, voice acting, etc..
That cannot be executed properly without decent hardware...

Wii U (for example), is more powerful than PS3 .. how is that not "decent" hardware?
Care to provide a source of that information? And even if that is true, Nintendo and game devs do not take advantage of this. You mention voice acting while defending Mario. It doesn't make sense...You're just being stubborn, so I'm done posting on this as you're incapable of having a civilized debate.
These are all examples that you take literally, of course I'm not referring to Mario when I say voice acting, he only says "Yippe!" the whole game. But as the other guy was trying to point out that graphics are the only things that matter, I was listing the things that do (for games in general), and voice acting is one of those things.

I'm not saying it's bad to play BF4 or anything similar (hell, I play it on occasion), what I'm saying is if that's all you play and you dismiss other games and systems (like Mario) because they're different from what you're used to, you are not a true gamer.

That's called being closed-minded.

Honest to God you are turning this into something it wasn't meant to be. No one said Mario wasn't a good game.
Most people dismiss games because they simply aren't into that genre, don't like the series, don't like the developer, etc.
I play Sports games, RPGs, and used to play shooters. Am I not a true gamer because I don't like fighting games? Get out of here.

And with that, I feel like I'm done arguing my point.
Feel free to close/move/etc. this thread as you please, as this is obviously going
off topic and I'm having difficulty putting my thoughts into words in a way
that you all can understand what I am saying..

Let me say this on relation directly to the topic stated:
Microsoft was innovative and improved the game space. I bought the Xbox One. Your point is invalid.
I will not buy the Ouya because it does give me the experience I want nor do I want another console that I will not play.
I do give games chances. We all have different tastes. If you can't deal with that, you are not a true gamer.
Bye.
