Ive got a 2010 xbox 360 that will not download an update. The update starts as soon as the xbox is turned on an then says cannot download the update with an error code. Is there a way to fix this or is it dead? Thanks!

I'm not sure if it'll work for you but my Xbox did that and I went over to the System Settings --> Network Settings --> Test Xbox Connection --> After it was all clear and it connected successfully the update installed.

Can you connect to live? If so then you can just download the update you need from the Xbox website and then put it on a blank USB drive and put it in your Xbox and then when you boot it up it will ask you if you want to apply the update and you select yes and then you will get the update.

This Should Theoretically Work But, You More Than Likely Will Need To Put The Exact Dashboard On The USB That The Console Is Trying To Update To.

Try pressing the controller sync button on your Xbox during powering up to clear any failed updates.
