Hi, first off I'll just say that I'm fairly new here, so if I mess anything up I'm sorry.
So just recently I got to rank 719, I was using gtakit.tk and I had turned the xp multiplier down to 478 or something like that, I was planning on turning my mods off but I didn't want to do it at that moment because I had just gotten into a lobby with my friend after trying for ages, anyway, we decided to do a race and after the race was done I got to rank 998, I don't how I got ranked up so high because the multiplier was on 478, my friend then said that if you get enough RP that would get you to rank 2000 you get reset, I didn't want to get reset so I left the game and turned off my mods, then my PS3 said it was going to overheat so I got off it for the night, today I got on and I was still rank 998 ( My mods were still off, I never turned them back on) I wanted to unlock the chrome paint for my cars so I decided to do some races, after completing one race I checked my rank and found that I was rank 1 and minus like a billion points, I'm just here to ask if there is anything I can do to get my rank back, or at least get to rank 100?

You modded you got caught most likely, you got deranked, there's nothing you can do about it. Make a new character. Sorry.

There's not much you can really do besides restart by making a new character. Sorry man:/

Thanks for the helpful replies, so by make a new character you mean go to swap character and make a new one from there?
