The pc is going to be used to play day z, World of Warcraft, and other steam games. Also going to stream off of it, let me know what you think.

I am not sure what your budget is, but for a little more you could get a i5-2500K for $240. As well as get a GTX 760 for $250 or so. Just a step up from what you have here. Of course if you go the Intel route (much better than AMD processors) you would have to choose a new motherboard as well. The i5-2500K outperforms any AMD processor at the moment. By a lot.

The 2500k is good, but its old. You can't compare AMD and Intel because they're different, and will be used at different budgets. Also, Intel are not "much better" than AMD CPU's. For example the 6300 VS. the i3, the 6300 wins. Please leave if you're going to fanboy Intel and say they're much better than AMD CPU's. That is partly true, however in some cases not.

Lmao, don't challenge me here bud. I probably know a lot more than you do. I don't fanboy Intel. Want proof? Fine, here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

According to that AMD's BEST processor barely outperforms the 2500K. And it's nearly half the price.

Don't call the 2500K "old". With a 4.5GHz overclock (easy as hell to get on a 2500K) it is on par with the i7-4770K Haswell with a 4.0GHz overclock. Don't call it old. It's still a **** monster.

I also run 2 AMD graphics cards in my rig in Crossfire. I don't fanboy anything. I go with what performs best.

There are certain builds that cater towards certain brands of processor.

If the buyer only wants to game, then the better, cheaper option, would be to go with an AMD chipset.

With builds around the $900 mark, then an AMD CPU will do the job compared to a similarly priced Intel chip.

I am thinking all around performance. That is what anybody would want when using a PC. Even a gaming PC isn't ONLY used for gaming most the time. Hell, he doesn't even have to get the "K" unlocked version. Get the cheaper plain old 2500 version. xD

I am trying to help you get the most bang for your buck here. Don't act stupid.

If he wants to get the best bang for his buck then he'd go AMD. And yes, i will call the 2500k old, didn't say anything about its performance but its old. Also, you cannot say AMD CPU's are much worse than intels, you cannot compare them as they are used on different budget etc. Also, i will "challenge" you as you call it, lol.

Changed a few things made it better and $20 cheaper

You could save $100 if you get a free windows 7 copy, and then upgrade the GPU to a GTX770.

This would be a much better build for the money. And yes even though a 2500k would outperform a lot of the AMD processors it doesn't mean you'd buy one as the platform it is on is dead.
