So earlier i bought a used iphone 5 from my local gaming store, the guy said all our devices have been wiped and tested so i was like ok this seems like a great deal, went back home, plugged the phone into my laptop with the usb and started to charge it.
Then, i picked up the phone to see how much it had charged, after that, i placed it back down on the sofa. suddenly the phone started up and had this womans face on the lock screen. the phone has all her/he's itunes songs on it and i dont know her passcode!
this is my first apple device so any help would be hugely appreciated!
i am currently feeling very mad at my local store

Put the iphone into recovery mode and then install. That way, you don't need to enter the passcode. To put your iphone into recovery mode, do the following:
1) Unplug iPhone from computer
2) Power it off
3) Press & Hold the home button
4) While you're STILL HOLDING home button, connect iPhone to computer
5) iPhone will turn on, keep holding home button
6) Voila! It should put you into recovery mode and you can restore from there!

You need to take it back to whoever you bought it from. And you can't just restore anymore. iOS 7 has a feature where you can only unlock it if you have the apple ID of the previous owner

Take it back to the store, and tell them that it wasn't restored, and they SHOULD give you another one
