I was playing it last night and when i took a game out to put in a new one it wouldnt work, but i kept trying with other games and i still did not work why?

put the disk u want to play in and bang on the top my xbox does that

sounds like you might need to replace the laser.

If that doesn't work buy a new dvd drive, they're cheap and easy to find on internet...

NO Open your xbox and clean your laser...It's dusty after a while.No you don't need to replace anything, as long as you clean your laser it should work.

this happened to me , i had to send mine back ): if its your disk then you have to clean it
mine wouldnt read anything
