That's what I was getting at. We all should be gaming on an Atari 2600 still. Graphics sucked and the controller sucked.

muddyrope wrote I recently switched over from console to PC

The PC is so much better, I paid around 650 GBP for mine
I play LOL and Minecraft on it, but I also play BF4, Rust and DayZ

The enjoyment I get from the PC is crazy, I see gaming as how much fun im having

Being with consoles for over 10 years the new ones was exciting on announcement then I realised how horrible they would be for me with the limitations of Microsoft (I was an Xbox fanboy)

Moving onto PC was the best change for me... It would probably be the best change for everyone seen as they are greater in many ways

In what ways are they better? And don't just say better graphics or a faster operating system.
And no it's not better for me.

Apart from you pointing out the obvious which clearly makes it better

You have steam (cheaper games)

You dont have to pay for XBL or PS+

Your stuck with your limited HDD space 500gb (new consoles) (they do say external ones will be released later on)

If your game is boring, take Skyrim for an example, I could go download countless mods for it, can you?

A PC has upgradable hardware so you can make your gaming experience even better

You dont even have to use the PC just for gaming, they are many more things you can start doing with a PC like Graphics

I know the console is better for some people, I thought it was for me. The console comes as a complete package, you know what you are getting

The PC gives you a huge variety of things to do

Except to me all that stuff doesn't matter. It seems like no one can sit down and play the game.
I have steam on my computer and 95% of the game don't appeal to me. It's just a big money pit.
You say cheaper games and no XBL? All the parts and upgrades you can do cost lots of money.
To me mods are dumb. They don't appeal to me. I have seen mods for Fallout and Skyrim none of which make the game "better." Most people cheat with mods as well which ruins the game.
I can do graphics on my $400 laptop if I wanted too (and no I am not on that now I am on my desktop).
And also you can upgrade your storage space. And how is 500GB not enough? There are numerous videos on YouTube of people modding their Xbox One with more storage etc.
My friend plays BF4 and DayZ a lot. The thing is he has a $400 desktop from WalMart that runs it perfectly not $2000 "uber haxor ultimate alien gaming razr x gpdxyz 4000 2.0" PC.

Fair point if you want to just chill out i agree it is much easier on a console, but if you want to do that with a PC you can also do that using Steam big picture if you want to.

There is a massive variety of games on Steam, Origin, Uplay ETC. this is my category list in case you are wondering :-P [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Yeah the games are a lot cheaper from sales from distrubuters such as the obvious ones like Steam, Amazon ETC you then have Gamersgate, GOG, Green Man Gaming, Get Games, Gamefly, Nuuveem.

You have not seen some of the great mods then. You may have only seen texture mods ETC but you can use [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ? or [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] which have overhaul mods which completely change the dynamic of the game. I see you are a Fallout fan, here is an overhaul mod that you will love. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ? It adds new quests, guns, mechanics ETC. I see what you mean by cheating with mods as well which can detract from the overall experience from the game but something like [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ? is a ton of few at times.

Also the parts debate if a tricky one. I still have a 560ti video card which is two and a half years old now, it can still run battlefield 4 on ultra at 1920x1080 but only at 30fps. I don't really need to upgrade per say but i have the option to do that if i am willing to but with console you do not have that choice of freedom.

If you are content with what you have then fair enough but you can have an insane amount of detail on very high graphics with a PC.

My game library stands at 2.3TB with 584 games installed. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

You can build a great custom build for 500 dollars.

NukaCola wrote I know that a gaming PC is better.
What I'm trying to say is that no one respects other peoples opinions just like now.

No it isn't the best change for me. Don't force it to everyone.
That's what I'm getting at.

I understand your point completely and fully respect that.

That looks like crap to be honest. Who would want to strain their head anyway? And yes you can put a console on more than one screen FYI.

"over rated for the price"
What do you mean?

The price to performance between a PC and a console is heavily in favor for the PC.

I think comments like this summarise what the OP is getting at quite nicely.

I have played PC and some of the most fun I've had has been on a console. Why do some PC gamers assume that graphics and controls are the be all and end all for a gaming experience. Pathetic really.

Agreed, maybe if the majority of PC gamers stopped trying to force it and actually back it up with valid facts then maybe console gamers would not be so mad at pc gamers. I have been a PC gamer for three years now and i understand where the OP is coming from. If somebody in the street come up to you and asked you nicely to donate to a cause and say why but not in an aggressive manner then i would think about it but if they just started shouting at me i would tell them to **** off.

All of my preference comments here are pure Opinion, good on your for having your own

I'll try and come of on this as nice and non-Elitist as possible, I'm sorry if this offends anyone who doesn't share the same opinion.

As of about 2 years ago I built my own rig for $700, which I've upgraded for the sole purpose of future proofing. I spend 90% of my time playing on this, and there is very little reason not to agree why the PC is superior to a console. I do own Consoles, such as I bought an X1 on release week, I do own an xbox 360, and a WiiU, all for the sole purpose of playing with friends down the line who still refuse to convert to PC. The communities are typically better (When you're playing games like Crysis 3 or BF4 which require some pretty nice specs on high settings, you're less likely to have 9 year olds screaming vulgar things), the Graphics are well, amazing. Sure better Graphics don't necessarily make a game better than another, but why the hell not play at full 1440p Ultra if given the chance?

People who use a controller complain "Keyboard and Mouse is so bad". Well....

LOLNO

It's all about the versatility and movement a Mouse has over joysticks, the Keybinding options offered on keyboards, etc, etc.

Players on Computer are also always offered the ability to upgrade their rig to however they desire. Hell, make it hot pink with Green LED inputs if you want. Or mount your Parts to the wall and keep it icy fresh.

Also is the argument of "Yeah well you can't sit down on your couch with a keyboard and mouse". Well, that's not true, if you want to get technical. However if you get a nice office chair for your setup, god you don't want to leave the damned thing. I can sit in my chair at my desk, on my PC, and play all the games I want while also listening to Spotify/Pandora/iTunes, as I browse TTG on a Second monitor setup, AND talk to friends via voice chat on Skype/Mumble/ etc. While on your Console, while while your "Superior Couch versatility", you can talk to friends and play one game at a time.

I wont even go into sales as they're self explanatory really. You just save so much money. it's insane. You are also not capped at all in your experience. Mods, Driver Updates, Graphical Tweaks, regular game updates, Early Access on Steam, Indie Games that will make you get on your knees and ask Valve for forgiveness. It's all here and right in front of you, but not everyone wants to take advantage of it.

Which is fine, play what makes you happy. Or what you think is best for you. For a growing number of people, they're finding out that it's gaming on their Computers that make them happy and enjoy the experience the most.

Also, if you think people like me, Lavish, or Cygnet are bad. God, one second let me link this to Nasa real quick.

Except that most the same games that aren't exclusive to consoles are on there.
Thief
COD
Mass Effect
Dragon Age
Payday
Skyrim
Walking Dead
State of Decay
Are these examples of games that don't appeal to you? That's a short list of games I could think of that are on steam

PC gaming is superior over console gaming. And it always will be.
EDIT-

1. Mouse and keyboard support

Well, duh. Console kids who have grown up with a controller in hand might argue, but there's still no better way of playing just about any game in any genre not just shooters than the combination of keyboard and mouse. It just works, offering orders of magnitude more precision and speed than fiddly analogue sticks.

2. High screen resolutions

While Microsoft and Sony scream about 'true HD' in their games but in many cases don't actually deliver it the PC has been happily running games at 1080p and above for yonks. In fact, the near-HD default res of 1,280x1,024 is very 2001; even a medium rig can handle 1,600x1,200 or more these days.

3. Free mods

Were you a raw naif, you might be forgiven for thinking that LittleBigPlanet et al single-handedly invented the idea of (nnnggh) 'user generated content'. But guess what? PC gamers have been coding mods (modifications) such as add-ons, total conversions, unofficial levels and all manner of other gubbins for well, pretty much forever. And then distributing it for free, for the sheer love of it.

4. Upgradeable hardware

With the aforementioned higher resolutions and textures, chances are a new PC game already looks better than its console counterpart right now. But even if you can't run it with all the visuals tweaked to the max, processor and graphic cards prices drop so quickly that it's hardly bank-breaking to refit your rig in a year or so, for better graphics and more speed.

5. Cheaper games

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's licensing and publishing costs inevitably drive up the cost of every single game released, and even pre-owned games tend to be far pricier than the PC equivalent.

6. You're not tied to one online service

Imagine not having to rely on a single, central server such as Xbox Live or PlayStation Network whenever you go online. Imagine not having to suffer downtimes, silly licensing agreements, or daft console-restricting DRM. Oh wait that's the PC online, isn't it?

7. No extra dosh needed for playing online

Okay, this only applies to Xbox Live, but who's to say that Sony might not start charging for PSN as it keeps haemorrhaging money? And yes, Xboxers can use the free Silver service, but really why would you?

8. Unlimited storage space

The Xbox 360 is limited to whatever can fit on a DVD (or, if you're unlucky, more than one). The PlayStation 3 has to struggle with turgid Blu-ray access and enforced installs. PC games, meanwhile, just sit happily on the potentially unlimited storage space of your hard drive. Easy.

9. Save game hacking

Like modders, PC gamers are rabidly enthusiastic about pulling apart save games and data files, fiddling therein, and finding ingenious ways to cheat or fix corrupted files. Try doing that with your Wii.

10. Unofficial fixes for older games

PC games such as Vampire: The Masquerade often get unofficial, free, support long after publishers have gone kaput and official support is abandoned, thanks to the tireless efforts of their fans. Bug fixes, enhancements, new hardware support it's all there.

11. Abandonware

The geek term for 'old games which you can't buy any more'. There are a huge number of classic PC titles out there from years gone by, and many thousands are available to download, legally, for free.

12. No red ring of death

Well, you only get this on the Xbox, of course, but the last thing you want your gaming machine to do is to completely konk out. At least when a PC goes wrong, it really goes wrong. Like, with fire and everything (possibly).
