Honestly, if anyone gives an unknown person access to their account they deserve every consequence from that action.

Maybe we aren't so 'greatful' as you said because these topics are considered spam, if someone scams you just notify a member of staff through PM if they are a member of TTG, if not we don't need bitching brought here about people, have the sense not to give out account info to strangers and you won't run into trouble anyway, hence why it's against the rules at TTG to do any kind of recovery service
