You could just try to bot the followers. I mean, wouldn't recommend it for the competition because you'll probably get disqualified, but just a little tip for the future.

Also, what's the competition about? What do you have to do, and what's the price?

I fail to think of a competition on Twitter that works by number of followers gained, or perhaps total number of followers...
