The only thing people keep using against Apple are it can't run games.

If you are an average computer user, and only use it for web browsing ect, then go with a mac, If you like to play games and just want something that will allow you to use most programs then go with a PC.

I own a Macbook and a gaming build with Windows 8.1.

Both are great but I prefer my Macbook when I'm just browsing the web.

I prefer Windows for gaming.

It depends what you want it for, If you just want it so you can browse the internet i'd say a mac, If you want to play a lot of games then you'll probably want a pc

I've always used Windows - Never had a mac personally so I'm going to have to say Windows on this one.

I like my Mac better because of Final Cut Pro X. And also the other various reasons that people have stated.

I'll go ahead and say awhile that I much prefer PC (though honestly more than often Linux variants than Windows).

But other people choosing PC, picking it just because of gaming seems a little invalid. Whenever someone asks me to make them a PC for "gaming" I usually just walk the other direction. I can safely recommend anybody a Mac if they just want to do schoolwork and the occasional TF2 or Minecraft. I find PC to be the main choice when dealing with more tech savvy things. OSX is just a little too locked down for me. Though of course there's ways around it, Windows/Linux on PC having basically everything right there for you is just more comfortable for me.

Honestly, the biggest reason for me is just the building. Yes, you can custom build a MAC and I've done it for a friend before -- it was a nightmare. Building PC's from the ground up is extremely enjoyable, and while of course not easy, is one of my favorite ways to kill a couple hours. Heading towards a Computer Engineering major, I just find PC more comfortable and enjoyable. I have nothing against Mac (except the "hurr durr we no get virusez" argument, if you don't click and download every ad you see a PC is just as secure), so there's not really a point to the whole Mac vs Win. war. To each their own, down to personal preference.

They each stand out from each other in different ways, there's no use trying to nitpick to find a clear winner.

Both, but for different reasons.

When I need to get actual work done, windows is my go to os. The terminal is easier to use(maybe Im just used to it) and most of the programs I use for work are windows only.

When i'm browsing or doing pretty much anything else I like to use my mac. Everything "just works" and I never have to worry about the BS that you do with windows.
Only downside to the mac is I wish I could use it more for work.
