The gameplay has changed a lot. The new Runescape 3 and Evolution of Combat updates have caused a lot of hate, but also some positive feedback. Runescape 3 update gave tons of more customization options and more your own-alike gameplay experience, And the core mechanism was changed when EoC was released, so the game has indeed changed a lot. There are abilities you can use & learn, and much more. The easiest way to check what is new is by logging in to the world.

This guy doesn't know what he is talking about if you wanna watch a 2 hour long tut on YouTube to find your combat level in rs3 go ahead lol take my advice if your gonna play rs again play the 2007 servers you need to start fresh but if rather start over then spend months trying to figure out all the new stuff in rs3... Rs3 destroyed rs trust me know good has come from it only the lazy people who don't wanna start over still play it...

Those of us who actually played in 2007 CAN'T enjoy the game the same way that we used to. We have jobs, and are in college. We don't have the time to play the game like we used to, and it's not the same spending an hour or two every couple days. Rs3 is not "ruined". And if it takes you months to figure out the new UI then you probably have some sort of disability. I have been playing the last couple days, (after not playing since 2012), and it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

As for the OPs question; Just play the game. If you like it, then keep playing. If you don't like it then stop playing.

Ive been playing RS for a long time now. Honestly it comes down to what u like. If ur all about the old school game play the. Go play 07 if ur looking for a new look and feel to rs go play RS3. U can play both i switch back and forth a lot between the two. I find both versions fun and uniqe.

Are you able to change to the 07 version on the website or does it need to be a Private Server?

Wouldn't go near RS3, membership is worth it though purely to play 07 - even if it's only for a month or two, nostalgia overload.
