Hey all,

Just been to an Sale today and managed to get this PC for just 60 GBP, looking to upgrade it but to do that,i need a general quality check on these 2 parts, rate them out of 10, and suggest a better part if needed?

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670

Many thanks

If you really got it for 60GBP then it's fairly decent.

What are you looking to use the computer for?

Not for gaming. I wouldn't use that at all for games.

That CPU isn't available anymore, make sure that you have the correct socket on your motherboard.

If the CPU was still available that combo would have been about 90GBP.

4/10.

Better just getting a new APU.

Thanks for the quick reply, yeah, got it from a sale since its a local company that didn't do well, needed to get rid of some stock quick, managed to snag it before anyone else.

And well, i'm both a PC and console gamer, but my PC remains inactive a lot of the time and my old PC doesn't have a special case or anything,so going to use this new one as my main.

And i don't really want to play things such as Battlefield and Crysis on ultra, although if you can find good parts to be able to do that, then post them please, i like to use my PC to play RTS' and MMO's on High settings without lag. Particularly Guild Wars 2 etc.

All recommendations are helpful

For light gaming, that will be fine. But don't expect to be playing BF4 or Crysis on even medium settings.

What is your budget for the upgrade.
What are the current specs of the PC.

This will do better in games and every CPU testing program.

10/10 for a tight budget gaming rig. For 60 GBP, you struck gold. Suggesting upgrades won't be so easy, though. Unless you somehow got it with an AM3+ board, I'd suggest tracking down a Phenom II X4 or X6 and getting an R9 270. You'll probably need to upgrade the PSU.
