There is a server download on the minecraft website. If you want deticated hosting, you will have to pay for it from a server provider.

You don't need anything besides the server and the client, which you should have. Make sure you port-forward correctly and that you're giving your friend the correct ip. Google is your friend if you don't know what to do. Also, [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
