You could always go to the office closest to you, and enquire about different roles within the Army.
It's your decision at the end of the day. Nobody can force you into doing anything that you don't want to do.
Think about it, do not just make a choice because you feel forced into it, you have a few years to decide yet.

I would suggest doing the ROTC proram, thats what I am going to do when I am the correct age, I am unsure if you can start when your 16 (You may be able to I don't know, All I know its for High School students)
But yet look into the ROTC, thats what I am doing.

One thing you can do is apply for any ROTC or NROTC, so that's either army, navy, marines, and airforce, and go to any college that provides you with an army one is that's what you want to do. College will pay totally for tuition, and you'll go in to the armed forces as a First Officer!

I have a neighbour that is the Police force. It is not all run and catch bad guys for one.
I technically can't go into detail as it would be illegally releasing Police information.
He told me a story once: WARNING: Gory.

There was a disturbance in an apartment once and he and another officer found a dead body in a bathtub filed with water, as you all know when we are in water to long we get wrinkled fingers and what not & that water vaporisers. The dead persons body had wrinkled to the point it became fallen apart body parts throughout the bath and leaking from the roof (vapour)

Craigyy wrote You have to take life by the horns and just go for what you want in life, otherwise you end end up in a crappy job you hate. So go for it while you have the chance. Don't be lazy.
Listen to this man, he knows what he's talking about.
