so on friday, my parents switched internet provider, they went from BT to EE

and my parents have just recieved a report from EE saying that my computer has tried to 'hack' the router, naturally they think that i was trying to hack it, but i wasn't i generally dont have a clue on why this report has been sent

if anyone could help or give any information on why they received the report or why my computer may of done something to trigger this

It's probably a fake report, if you haven't done anything wrong and they haven't turned off your internet, don't worry about it.

By the way, your router is free game, if you want to crack/hack/whatever your own router you can do it and there's nothing they can do to stop it, nor can they legally penalize you.

i know they cant do anything, but my family thinks i have and if they get another one, i get banned from the router, they don't understand that it is EE's fault, not mine

Is it even from the ISP? Could be a scam letter.
