ZMills wrote Hey, I've got the new beats studio's I plug the charger cable in and all the lights come on, and stay on. After a while I unplug them try to turn them on, and they dont have power.

Any suggestion on what I'm doing wrong, or are they broken?

How long ago did you get them? I'm pretty sure all Beats By Dre products come with a 90 day warranty. if I was you, I'd return them for a new pair.

I've been looking for ages , trying to work out if they're broken. And I've just managed to find a way to reset them, and now they work!

Yeah, they are under warranty anyway.

Thanks.

Ishcabible wrote Oh, if they're a compliment, you probably should get something to compliment them rather than sound like them, so you can probably cross off the M100. They sound too similar to pay so much money for. Not to mention they do leak some sound (which I just found out today).

If you're paying retail for both, then I'd just pick the one that sounds better to you because my preferences are probably drastically different from yours and making recommendations at this point is more taste that absolute quality (well the Momentum is about 10% better than the P5, but also more expensive here). I can't really think of anything else that's both portable and more comfortable than the AE2; that's the one thing Bose really has down. The K545 comes close though, but I'm concerned you won't think they have enough low end. They have noticeably less bass than the Momentum.

And I don't know of any other places other than ebay and Amazon, sorry!

As long as they're remotely punchy (I like to be able to feel them on my head at certain frequencies like I can with my COP). I've just put a bid in for some P5s (unwanted present) at 130 GBP and I'm hoping to win them. I've found another site called AV forums but you need a certain amount of thanks to post on there, but they have a good range of headphones on there including Momentums.

The M100 look very appealing at the moment as I do love the sound of my COP, and with them being bassy and having the XL pads they seem to be the perfect headphones. From reviews I have seen, they seem to lack in very high end which might be a good thing. Unfortunately, due to the lack of a V-Moda shop here availability of 2nd hand cans is close to 0.

I'm going to go into Cardiff on Wednesday and I shall test out a few pairs of headphones and decide which I like the most.

The K545 did that for me, but I'm accustomed to pretty bass light headphones, so my idea of bassy was pretty lenient before I got the M100. Good luck with the P5s! I'm very tempted by the P7 myself.

I'll sell you my M100 for less than 210 quid if you can't find any sellers and you aren't satisfied by any other headphone. I think I'm fine with my Beats Pros on the portable front; I'm looking to buy a Sennheiser HD650 to compliment my Sony SA5000 and selling the M100 will take care of a big chunk of it.

Normally I would, but as I'm in the UK I'd probably have to pay import taxes an then shipping is going to be expensive. What colour did you get? The ones I have found are with the orange cable which I'm not really a fan of.

I didn't really like the P7,they were quite heavy and consumed my head rather than sat on it nicely. Sound was okay, but not 330 pounds good. They should be maybe 30 pounds more than the P5.

Thoughts on the sennheiser DJ series by the way? They look really nice but unsure of sound quality as of now. Do you review headphones for a website?

Actually, the HF listing just dropped to 190, so it's a better deal! Mine are white. If it were my choice I'd have gotten matte black, but I traded my DT880 for them and didn't have a choice.

And concerning the P7, I hate to say this (because I've always detested the concept of portable amps) but when amped, the midrange comes alive and the bass becomes less bloated. I'll agree they're pretty heavy though.

I'm kind of interested in the HD8, but I'm not keeping my hopes too high. I was not impressed with the HD25 and it seems like they looked at that headphone as inspiration. It's daft to me why they would use the same plastic headband with those as their other headphones. I was never comfortable with the PXC450's headband because it felt kind of cheap. And yes I do review headphones for a website (Headfonics.com). Since Sennheiser has sent me stuff to review before, with any luck, I'll get to try the HD8.

Only an hour left on the P5. White would be the colour I would go for, or shadow. I just don't like the orange cable that comes with the matt black one.

As a portable amp, the Fiio series are pretty good and definitely aid the COP with sound as well, but I'd rather get some different headphones. Are the P5s easy to power?

Won the bid on the P5 - they're brand new and I got them for 140 GBP in the end! Pretty good price. I'll have to see what they're like. I'm hoping they're as good as I remember them to be.

Congrats! And in my experience, the P5 didn't improve nearly as much as the P7 with an amp. You're probably fine using them even unamped.

Bought some HK Soundsticks today. They're not the most accurate speakers by far, by boy do they sound pleasing. They're a very soft sound, and really quite beautiful. Sound quality wise as good as the Zeppelin series by B&W but a bit more depth thanks to the sub.I haven't been able to test out low end yet, but sounds promising. I'll write a full review some time this weekend, as well as my opinion on the P5s when I get them - from what I heard in the Apple shop they're exactly what I wanted.

Exciting times! Should be saving for a car really, but spending it on audio equipment is miles more satisfying.

I recently bought a pair of ATH M50s (the straight cable). I feel that the cable is too long, so I'm looking for a trustworthy site or person to mod a detachable cable port to them, maybe even daisy chain?

I've seen a couple of people online say they can do it, but the websites didn't look very reliable.

I would be doing this myself, but I don't have a soldering kit and unless I can find a good one for cheap, I'd rather not even attempt it. I also have no experience with soldering.

Edit: After looking into it some more, I may be able to do it myself. Only thing is I would need a tutorial on how to do so.
