My laptop screen was broken so I took it apart and fixed it then put it back together and installing windows updates is having the CPU running between 80c-90c but ramining about 88c and the mobo the same(readings from speccy). When disassembling I didnt notice any thing directly ontop of the CPU to remove heat.
Specs:
Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo @ 2GHz
3GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 398MHz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4500 Seroes @ 1355x768

Check the CPU fan it may be clogged with fibers that is stopping
heat disbursement therefore raising the temps

I don't want to disassemble it again if the temps are not worrying.

-Lanaya- wroteI believe that the Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo @ 2GHz can handle heat up to 100C. Anything higher will damage it (88C is pretty toasty though so you might want to see if that can get lower)Xianonic wrote Check the CPU fan it may be clogged with fibers that is stopping
