yeah, i sent a report or whatever you want to call it, to steam support, just waiting for a reply, dont know how long that'll take though

You say your laptop restarted.
Did you restart it or did it restart on its own?
If it restarted on its own, has this happened before and how often does it happen?

If it restarted on its own, you may have some sort of malware.

If you're certain you have no viruses or anything of the sort, you'll just have to contact Steam and see what they say.

Even if it was for a virus or something, I'd still contact Steam and see if you can get them to remove the suspension.

I was previously banned from all Source games for cheating.

They said that I was cheating but they're not allowed to say what cheat I was using.

If Steam said what 'cheat' I was using, it would be a lot easier to figure out the problem.
All I had was a HUD mod for TF2.
I highly doubt that was what had caused it as a lot of people used it but you never know.

Since then, I've had to create a new Steam account and I've uninstalled the HUD mod and haven't been banned.
But then again, I now have a new PC so it could have been some sort of virus or something.
I guess I'll never figure out why I was banned.

Anyway, enough about my life story. lol

I have a friend with over 4400 hours in TF2 and has been using a custom HUD for probably more than half of that time played and has never had any problems. As well as i use one to with no problems at all.

i actually just scanned my laptop for virus'/ malware right before (daily scans) nothing was found, i think it was because i was in mid game DayZ and it just instantly kicked me off and suspended me, rather than if i was just on steam screen or something

I would say so. Its pretty much the same thing as getting custom weapon skins. You aren't modding it to get any advantage in game. My friend i mentioned and i both use FrankenHUD.
