I usually find that after work my brain is still active, so playing games or reading a book will help you

1. Get your room as dark as possible.
2. Try to maintain a cool temperature (not too cold).
3. Put on a really soothing, slow song (maybe without singing, just instruments and such).
4. Keep your eyes closed, you will eventually fall asleep.
