The best way to study the 3 "ALT" subjects is just by knowing them(Auto-Shop/Mechanics/Electronics).

The Arithmetic is pretty simple, Just know basic math.
The others are pretty self explanatory. If you paid attention in school you should do fine without studying!

So if I were to study for a week about mechanics and when the test comes along and you seem to know exactly what you're saying then they will end up putting you into some sort of mechanic field since your ASVAB proved you knew machinery so unless you plan and cramming a whole lot of info into your head and not getting a score you were suppose to be my guest. Its everything you know, not what you need to know.

the asvab is both. need to know and what you know

I just took it last month its just based off your common sense on those 8 subjects above....Im pretty sure only 4 of the 8 go towards your actually score

It is not what you need to know. If you score a certain score its what you know and what you'll be useful in. Lets put it like this: You get a 89 on it, meaning you did better then 89% of the other cadets but you did not get anything that deals with technology but someone who gets a 50 knows everything about technology he'll be recommended for a field of tech and you would be put into some sort of field that your ASVAB shows you're strong in.

idk where you got the statement from.. it's wrong. my recruiter told me there is a minimum of 31 or something on the asvab and i heard the same thing from other people.

You have to pass the AFQT, which are subsections to the ASVAB, not the actual test itself.
