SC0TTM97 wrote We're the moon landings faked? Many people want to know,
It's now been nearly four decades since Neil Armstrong took his "giant leap for mankind" if, that is, he ever set foot off this planet. Doubters say the U.S. government, desperate to beat the Russians in the space race, faked the lunar landings, with Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin acting out their mission on a secret film set, located (depending on the theory) either high in the Hollywood Hills or deep within Area 51. With the photos and videos of the Apollo missions only available through NASA, there's no independent verification that the lunar landings were anything but a hoax.

The smoking gun? Film of Aldrin planting a waving American flag on the moon, which critics say proves that he was not in space. The flag's movement, they say, clearly shows the presence of wind, which is impossible in a vacuum. NASA says Aldrin was twisting the flagpole to get the moon soil, which caused the flag to move. (And never mind that astronauts have brought back hundreds of independently verified moon rocks.) Theorists have even suggested that filmmaker Stanley Kubrick may have helped NASA fake the first lunar landing, given that his 1968 film 2001: A Space Odessey proves that the technology existed back then to artificially create a spacelike set. And as for Virgil I. Grissom, Edward H. White and Roger B. Chaffee three astronauts who died in a fire while testing equipment for the first moon mission? They were executed by the U.S. government, which feared they were about to disclose the truth.

Far-fetched as the hoax theory may seem, a 1999 Gallup poll showed that it's comparatively durable: 6% of Americans said they thought the lunar landings were fake, and 5% said they were undecided.

Let me know what you think,

Thanks

--Scott--

Also I don't get how the shadows are in the opposite way

Mythbusters pretty much debunked most of the major theories about the moon landing. Including the shadows...

If the moon landings were faked, why do we have actual rocks and dust collected from the Moon being studied? Why did we create billion dollar space technology, and not use it? Why do we know so much about the geological features, aside from probes? Why do we even bother with space, if we haven't even set foot on our own Moon, the closest celestial body to us? Why would we be planning extreme ventures into space (Un-manned/Manned), if our Moon was yet to be explored. Why in the hell is this still a conspiracy theory?

You may have just said enough for me to change my mind about it being fake

If that wasn't enough, they also left retroreflectors on the moon which means you can fire a laser at them and it will bounce right back to you.
They can't be there if Neil and Buzz didn't leave them there.

Also, to add some things.

- Shadows, they aren't all parallel with each other. On the Moon, the same occurrence happens, its called "Perspective". Debunked.
- On Earth, a flag stops moving, unless a constant force is acting upon it, because of air resistance and gravity. (Newton taught us this, c'mon people) On the Moon, no air + 1/3 the gravity on Earth + A non-conventional flag material= Waving Flag on the Moon.
- The mysterious object, may never be debunked, but it sure looks like the lunar module.
- We haven't gone back, because there's nothing else to see/gather by a manned mission. We can do it with probes, besides the funding cut for NASA.
- As for the lunar module not dispersing any dust after landing, you could not tell with your naked eye looking at a photograph. The dust would be dispersed relatively soon after they landed.
- As for the Van Allen Radiation belt, it would not frie them. Considering they were traveling extremely fast. Large amounts of gold are used in spacecraft to prevent radiation exposure, it works quite well. Gold was used in the mission spacecraft.
- As for walking slow, wouldn't you be nervous about walking/jumping/running on a planet with considerably less gravity and no atmosphere? Even though they were "big-awesome" astronauts, it doesn't mean they weren't afraid.
- As for the lack of stars. There could be an easy explanation, which is: The moon essentially has three sources of light. Number one is "Itself", number two is "The Earth and the most prominent of all is "The Sun". With all the light combined, the cameras would surely pick the light up of the Moon, rather the stars.

We landed on the Moon.

I can say that I believe the moon landings were in deed fake. All the things people pointed out to say it wasn't true really had me thinking

Look at the stuff I posted on the previous page. Pretty much all of the theories as to why the landings were faked have been debunked. The evidence that we did land on the moon far outweighs the evidence again (which is almost non existent)...
