Being an older member doesn't mean you're always active. Also, just because you don't post a lot, that doesn't mean you're inactive, it just means you comment on things that are actually helping the user out instead of just posting random things.

Well it shows if they are active or not!!

No it doesnt mean that. It could mean that they created an account and started using it just recently with "x" amount of years on it. So years dont really mean your active. And im not saying that to all people, but there are some accounts out there that are like that.

Actually I don't agree with that. I was honestly more active before my 1 year mark. A little before my 1 year mark I started getting back into gaming and haven't really been active on here so much. Got MVC, Gold Gifter, 4,000 posts all before 1 year and planned on continuing with posting and gifting people gold, but as I said, I got caught up with gaming again and haven't made the time to really do much of these. I am sorting out my time as of now to try and squeeze both in to the extent I want and to get active on here once again. I would't say years on the site mean you're active as there are members who are 3+ years on here who aren't really active and there are members on here with a few months on here who are really active.

Pens wrote This really annoys me.
When I look through comments on a gold giveaway that asks 'why you think you deserve it' I see so many posts from people with next to nothing on their post count, that claim they are active 24/7 and love to help people out.
Half of these people are 1 year+ members. Like they actually think people are going to believe that they are active.
This really annoys me.
Please share your thought on this.

If you look at my post count and year's active they probably don't add up. And you'd probably suggest i'm not active. I'm on this site everyday, i have a tab opened up at all times. Just because i don't post every day doesn't mean i'm not active. I post when i need to, not because i want to get my post count up. I think my rep accurately show's quality is better than quantity- it's alot higher than where it should be.

I mean low post counts, you clearly have been active because you have over1000 posts.
I mean people with barely 30 posts. Please read carefully what I'm saying people

If they are still here after 3 or more years they are not inactive. Regardless of post count, they've still been there.

Craigyy wrote Post count and year count have nothing to do with each other. Some people on here are 5 year members and have about 500 posts, but that doesn't mean they're inactive. They could be on here more often that anyone, just they don't post as often. Being active means being online, not posting all the time. Most of the most helpful members spend all day in the shoutbox. Therefore not getting their post count up.

So this rant is pretty silly. I mean who cares? Really.

Well if they got Gold then they would still lurk, when it could go to someone who could do better.

A higher post count doesn't necessarily mean they're active. They could post bland and generic garbage for as much as we know.

A high post count and a multiple year member doesn't always mean someone is active.

There have been moments in my 3 (almost 4) years on the site that I wouldn't log in for a couple of months at a time. I can understand where you are coming from but I wouldn't let it bother you that much. What's the point?

Just because someone has been on the site for a year or two doesnt mean their active, but just because someone has 1,000 posts + also doesnt mean they are active they could have spammed or made useless posts I dont count spamming as being active.

I just hate when someone is too illiterate to capitalize and use proper grammar when asking for stuff. Like at least put some effort it to it.
