My life was going great up to 8th grade year ive lost all my weight over the 7th grade summer everyone at school was giving me compliments on my weight telling me how bad i used to look and stuff like that a year later i got separated from half of my school that ive been with since the start since my school was k through 8th me and my best friend used to do everything together we would be at each others house 24 / 7 play sports together and exerything he was always the guy who made everyone laugh did not care anout what people thought we werent unpopular by the way but anyway at the start of high school he said how hes gonna change and act normal and now we barely talk when a subject is brought up about our old school or times he ignores me and now ive lost the best friend ive ever had. After freshman year in the summer my grandpaw died from a bad accident after that i kept eating and eating and i would play video games to get my mind off everything and it became and still is a bad habbit months later my house got flooded ruining everthing after that. I ate more and continue to play video games up to where i am now im 5,7 200 pounds and all my friends from my old school stare and i can tell they talk about how much weight ive gained . I stopped playing sports and i never go outside like ever so my question to you is how do i make a comeback and get out of this slump ?

Id like to recommend a YouTuber to you.

His name is Elliott Hulse. He is a bodybuilder, but he also has a second channel where he answers questions and talks about A LOT of stuff, including losing weight, dealing with depression, and many other life issues. It's a great channel

You need to talk to your parents about this or see a counselor.

Hey. Don't get ahead of yourself. You can do what I did. I am 5'9 and 250. I workout every day. It really helps. You'll look a lot more healthy. You'll gain some weight and lose weight. If I were you I'd rather be buff than skinny.

You can try taking up skateboarding. It keeps you in good shape and its funner than lifting and stuff like that.

you could try joining a swim team, I've been on a swim team for 4 years and it's a great way to get in shape as well as meet some of the nicest and most uplifting people.

Before I start let me just tell you this. High school is shit. Who cares what they think. You gotta focus on you right now not about other people. Caring too much about what other people think can bring you down. Also, you should probably talk to your parents about this but since you posted here I'll try and help out. One of the first things we can do is find out and determine what the problem is. From the sounds of it, it sounds like you want to be back at that lighter weight with your friends. Now I can't really help you out with the friend situation but I can try to help with the other part. If you want to change something then keep reading

Lets try this out. Tomorrow I want you to make a change. Maybe that change is going for a mile walk or not drinking that soda in the fridge but at least make 1 change. Every day look at something small you can do to work towards a long term goal.

I'll share a personal example. This summer I want to get a 6 pack. It's pretty ambitious and there's a lot of stuff to do but when you take small steps it doesn't seem bad. Instead of eating hamburgers and pizza everyday like I did last year I'm starting to eat salads and healthy sandwiches. Instead of eating cookies for dessert I'm eating bananas. Instead of eating ice cream for a snack I'm eating green peppers (which are amazing by the way). They're all super small changes that I took one at a time and eventually I'm getting to the point where I am eating really healthy.
So make a change tomorrow. Take it just a little bit at a time and works towards that goal you want to get to. Want to drop a little weight? Take a walk tomorrow and sweat a little bit, it'll feel good!

I'll even do it with you. Tomorrow I'll go out and make a change myself. Maybe I won't spend all afternoon on my computer. Maybe I'll go for a nice run or maybe I'll drink water during lunch instead of a soda. Lets make a change. Send me a pm if you want to
