Someone replied to a post I made about getting a avatar and I clicked the green check mark when I got the notification hoping it would take me to my post but It didn't it just went away and now I cant find the post is there away to get back to a past post with out going through all of them?

If you go to your profile and look under your recent topics in the Forum tab, you can see who has replied to your post without going through the sub section to find your topic

All you have to do is go to your profile, scroll down and click the "Forums" button: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

And it will show you all the threads you've created and posted on.
