I have the budget for either a Radeon R90 270x or a GeForce GTX 760.
Which should I get for playing a game like BF4?
The cards will be paired with my AMD-FX8350 CPU.

I've never used the 760, so I won't say much about it. I do own the R9 270x which is nice but it won't play Battlefield 4 on anything over medium with a good framerate. On Battlefield 3 though I can handle ultra quite nicely. Most other games like Tomb Raider and DayZ I handle on ultra and high just fine.

The 760 by EVGA is the better card and has shadowing which amd cards don't and shadowing prevents a lot of frame drops when recording and have a slightly higher benchmarks for bf4. I have one in my build and it will be finished tomorrow btw

So general idea is the 760-770? If so I'm ordering it tonight.
Thanks, rep to all.

The 760 is faster in most games, but not BF4. It's an AMD game and AMD cards perform better with it. Mantle will widen the gap.

I think you mean Shadowplay. That's an Nvidia feature for recording gameplay without a huge performance hit. Shadowing is not a thing and what you're saying is not true.

Shadowplay actually is a thing watch JackFrags on youtube and he reviews the 290x and admits that the 690 is better because of shadowplay and the 780ti is better as well. Also the 760 beats the 270x by one frame per second on bf4 ultra 1920x1200 2xMSAA I have a benchmarked picture of all GPU's performance on bf4 and just because its AMD doesn't mean iits better than NVIDIA in bf4 that has nothing to do with it.

Did you read my post? I said the 760 was the better card but the fact is that it's not faster than the 270X in BF4 which was specifically mentioned by OP and others in this topic. For the sake of correctness, I pointed it out. The fact of the matter is that BF4 likes AMD cards like some games like Nvidia cards. BF4 will be the first game to support Mantle as well, which will result in some performance increase that Nvidia cards will not share.
Shadowplay is a gameplay recorder and is completely irrelevant unless OP records gameplay often. Most people don't. I also don't know why you brought up the 690 and 780 Ti, of course they're better than the 290X. Why do you insist this be an Nvidia vs. AMD argument?
The fact of the matter is that the 270X can be had for $30 cheaper and performs slightly below the 760.
