My iphone 4S is on iOS 7.0.4. I tired jail breaking through evasion 7 and whenever I open the download it says a problem has occurred. I'm on a macbook pro laptop.

Make sure you downloaded the Mac version from the official website.
If it still doesn't work, delete the evasi0n program, redownload it, back up and restore your iPhone, and try again.
This should take care of your problem.

I did download the mac version. Already deleted and downloaded it and it still says a problem has occured.

I jailbroke my 4s a few weeks ago with no problems maybe it's your phones internal problem not sure.
