Ok im in the process of building a PC idk wether to go AMD or intel ik intel is better but cant amd chips do just as good? I just need some suggestions on combo of cpu/mobo for about 300 although im not scared to buy from ebay so i could get a better price

AMD or Intel, TBH it's hard to do a comparison because they are completely different. AMD is more for a budget and Intel is more for performance.

What currency?

Also, we need to know other things; what size case do you have (mid, full tower etc)? What are your current specs?

its for gaming, and doing video editing ect. and i am in the us so i use $, i will have a mid tower and no specs im building it ground up, i have a 500 watt corsair psu i will getting in the mail today and my case is on its way. but at the moment thats all i have bought is the case and psu

Did you have a budget for the rest of the parts, or do you know what you're getting and just want a recommendation for $300 worth of processor and mobo?

Just asking because a lot of people think an i5 around 200 dollars with a 150 dollar graphics card is a good idea.

Just the mobo and cpu. Altogether my budget is about 650-700 I already bought a case and psu for 70$ so

OP, on a $700 budget you probably shouldn't be spending such a large portion on the CPU and board. You haven't given us many specifics, so it's hard to help you.

specifics? like what, all i need help with is the cpu and mobo thats all idk what to get ik im probably gettin and i5 2500k because of its OC abilities so ig i just need a motherboard the cpu itself i found it for 215$ so $85 for a mobo is what i have to spend
