It is kind of scary that you cannot say how big space really is. Like, why is it all there?
What scares me even more is it is extremely hard to believe that out of the whole universe, we are the only planet capable (so far) of sustaining life. And I don't care about bacteria and stuff, I mean like straight up humans.
It gets you thinking, I'll tell you that.

There are different theories stating many different possibilities but recent conclusions have pointed to the fact it may be infinite and linear.

There is no way to tell that space ends or it is infinite. At the moment, for us humans as far as we know it continues forever because we have only seen the observable universe.
Also supposedly space is never-ending. (Not infinite)
For example, If you could see in a spherical manner, if you were to look one way, you could, if you see this far, end up see the back of your head.
I have heard and believe space works this way.
But then again this is impossible to do, but doesn't mean it doesn't work this way.
If you didn't know (I am not sure if this is a theory or fact) but the further you look into space the older it gets. So looking through a telescope at a planet that isn't in our Solar System, in a sense you are looking at the past. You would be seeing that planet, in the past. So in a sense you could hypothesis planets that we see on a telescope actually could be destroyed by now, depending on how far you look into the universe.
VERY CONFUSING BUT SO COOL IN MY OPINION. (:

Space is always expanding too, although some believe in the theory that space will eventually contract in a Big Crunch. (Destroying almost everything)
