Just gonna let something out thats been inside me for a while.
Our students have trouble with 6 hour days as is. How the hell are they gonna concentrate for 3 additional hours? And what about the student athletes, sports right after school?
My school starts at 7:15, we get out at 1:20. For all of our outdoor sports, starting at 4:30 would be way too late.
IDK about in the UK, I'm in the US, but this would never work in my school

9-3.20 for me. The teacher's union will stike about this but it doesn't bother me. As long as we get a long lunch break I'm fine with it

F**K THAT! 6 Hours is hell. 9 Hours I would blow my Brain out. If they want to teach people who don't do so well improve teaching.

^ actually lol'ed.

Similar to Mazlow and Taylor's hierarchies of needs for employees... Students will (probably) only work at a minimal level over 9 hours, compared to a more effective "amount learned per hour" figure over a shorter day. So whilst the students might not get as much work out of the way, I'd be led to believe that it'd be of a higher quality if they didn't extend the school day by such a large amount.

Why do you have to go to school for 9 hours.

We don't have to "yet" hopefully, but the government are considering making it happen.

Aye but our school is ran by a guy who both looks like a penguin and is a spastic.

Here's a thought. We in Scotland have a separate education system. This surely would only apply to the rest of you (especially when we will be independent anyway)

I really don't mind going to school each day. I just mind having to wake up early and having to do things a certain way. If only school was like college, where you have flexible schedules and you can actually change classes/courses if you dislike them and replace them with another one. It would be much easier, fun and people will actually be more motivated to go in my opinion.
