Is it because of the unpopular brandname, but also, do you think it would be a good buy to play games like CoD Ghosts on atleast medium settings?

no the reason that card is so cheap is that it is a cheap card that will not run any games that you want

A review says that it runs BF4 @approx. 40 fps on Medium settings at 1080p which explains the price... It's a shit card basically

I suppose it could be a bogus review, in the title it says it's a 3.0 card when it's actually 2.0, so there could be other lies on the site too i suppose

If you continue to read, it was an error on Zotac's part, so newegg must have used the error too.

Check out this card [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] It's the one I use, on some single player games i get 60fps on ultra, and on BF3 i get 40fps on high. It's a very nice mid-range card

Zotac makes great cards so I'm not sure why you'd say they're unpopular. The GT 640 is a very low-end card and it has no business being priced at $100. If you're looking around this price point, the 260X is faster than a 7790 and comes with two free games.

i would go with one of these options instead of the gt 640

both good options but it really depends on your budget
