I'm going to purchase new parts soon and i wanted to know what is better for gaming or rendering videos The Ivy Bridge or the Haswell please can the responses be from people who use Intel or have upgraded

The newer i5 4670K would be better, but they can get toasty. If you eant true rendering performance, an i7 3770K would be the way to go, but for the benefits it wouldn't be worth it.
So, I would choose the 4670K. If you don't plan on overclocking, save a bit and get the normal 4670.
BUT. the 3570K isn't bad at all.

Well i agree with Terrabytes all of the thing he said are completely correct, There is also another reason to get haswell, The new intell cpu coming out sometime this year or next year Broadwell runs on the same chipset as haswell so you will not have to change motherboards.

Thanks i was thinking of getting a 3770k so that's helpful so thanks but i am planning on overclocking so i cant get the 4670k but the most ill spend on a cpu is 170
