Alright, here's the deal. My birthday's coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. More like, a new set of much nicer rims, or a cold air intake. I drive a 2010 Ford Mustang GT.

These are the rims I have on the car now (stock base GT rims) [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
These are the rims I really want for some reason ($650) [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Since the rims were kind of pricey (as expected), I thought of some less expensive mods like a cold air intake. I was thinking K&N or Roush Performance, but I'm unsure of which will yield better results.
Roush ($224.99)http://www.roushperformance.com/parts/Mustang-Cold-Air-Intake-Kit-2010-2012.html#prettyPhoto
K&N ($384.99) [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If anyone has any sub-$1000 car mods I might want to invest in, or any other opinions for that matter, let me know please as I know a lot but I am no expert

Definitly get the cold intake first before the rims. Get the rims after. I rather have my car running better and smoother than to show off the exterior to some random people. I could care less how the outside looks as long as it runs smooth, strong and sounds mean I could for sure carless how the outside looks.

It's a matter of aesthetic vs. real performance. I think a CAI would be better value per dollar.. BUT THEM RIMS DOE..

But that extra HP!

Cold air intakes are a joke and dont give you any real power for the outrageous price tag. anyways it's the filter that matters. Just buy a k&n filter.

Say if you were to buy a car and you had 2 choices, A car that has a few upgrades or a car that has a nice exterior what would you choose? And they we're the same price. The are what make the car worth more, I rather do the exterior and interior myself once I buy the car rather than pay a few hundred dollars for someone to install something, and if you know how to install it and think you can do it yourself its even better, but its your choic I definitely pick the upgrades over looks

I've only heard good things about their filters, in fact, the used car dealer (where I bought the car) recommended I put on a K&N air filter for obvious reasons. I never really understood CAIs, I just see them as a new pipe and different filter, so maybe I'll just get a K&N filter and the set of rims!

Not sure how the stock intakes are set up on the 'stangs, but with my 03 gmc sierra i just cut a hole in the front of it and it draws in crazy amounts of air. I just run a k&n filter w/ a modded stock intake, and it works great.

Scrap the supercharger and CAI. american muscle.com/hellion-turbo-11gt.html <-- delete spaces. witha turbo its exhaust driven instead of belt driven like a supercharger you can get a lot more power out of it. that turbo in the link will boost you from a '10 mustang stock hp of 210 to 550-850hp depending on how much boost you run to the engine. A little more wokr to put on but well worth it in the long run..
