i duel booted windows 8 and Ubuntu and now my windows 8 has messed up really badly, i have no recovery disks or restore points, i don't have anything i desperately want to keep on there so is it possible or am i talking crazy talk?

How has your Windows partition messed up? When you install a Linux distro like Ubuntu, you would shrink the Windows partition from within Windows, boot to the Linux install disk, create the partition(s) with the free space (which would install GRUB so you could select which OS to boot to at startup), and install Linux on a separate partition.
If you did something wrong, you could make Windows unable to boot, but recoverable.
You can run GParted to see if your Windows install is still intact. This is what mine looks like with a standard Crunchbang install alongside Win7 on an SSD.

Mine looks like this, i can access all my windows files through ubuntu so my data is recoverable, but i want to get my windows working again!

There should be fixes here.
i tried the boot repair, and it didnt fix it, all it did was now when i start my computer there are two windows 8, here is a picture of what it looks like, and the commands incase that helps!

Windows 8 (loader) (on /dev/sda1) is my origanal windows 8, both of the windows 8 options are the same they both have the black screen error
