Valor's Guide To A Flawless Graphics Shop!

I made this thread to help aspiring graphic artists with very detailed info on how to set-up a GFX Shop and give some advice/tips

Chapters:
[1]The Set-Up Process
[2] Recruiting
[3] Organization
[4] What Do You Do?
[5] Form
[6] Keeping Your Shop Clean

Chapter 1: Set-Up Process
Before you decide to make a GFX shop consider the following...
Am I Good at GFX?
Can I give the people what they want in a timely fashion?
Will I perform under pressure?
Can I handle maintaining my thread?
Also read the rules for this section located here

Introduce Yourself to TTG, tell everyone your name, programs you use, and how long you have been doing GFX.

Whenever you are making a shop, ALWAYS put time into it... people will take you more seriously and will consider you more professional.

"Don't open a shop unless you have made a minimum of say 10 pieces of work and all rates are decent!" - oEliite1x

Here is a list of a few image hosting sites that you can use to upload your work on

Chapter 2: Recruiting

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit this is a critical step in being successful in the graphics world.
Recruit some fellow artist's to participate in your shop. Wondering why you should do this? Well, once your shop gets a lot of requests it will be hard to keep up...but with two or more people it will be much easier and lighten the load.

People like to have their products quick and in a timely manner, so remember the more the merrier

Chapter 3: Organization

This is the most important step of all.

Being Organized

Here are some ways you can organize your topic...

Spoils:These are very important when your topic contains loads of text, Why? Generally people do not like to read through big massive walls of text... to do this click the white box next to the "Insert URL" button and highlight the text you want to hide

Waiting List's:These are to show people what request you are on and when it will be completed...

Example: TTG USER HERE/ 10 MINS

Open/Closed: This is a very simple step that tells people when your shop is OPEN or CLOSED do this by editing your topic and adding it to the title.

Vouches: Vouches are reviews written by TTG User's and can help your shop.
Vouches Prove that your shop is LEGIT
Making vouches is very easy...simply quote the person that wrote a good review and add it into your topic like this...

This topic is great Valor

Thank you so much Valor

Chapter 4: What Do You Do?

Show Everyone what you can do so they now what they can request, For example...
"Desktop BG's"
"Avatars"
"Signatures"
"Profile Banners"
Etc Etc.

(You can also refer to Kyle93's sticky in this section located here on the proper way to request work)

Along with this you should also show some of your previous work so other people can look at it and critique it...

Chapter 5: Form

Forms are very useful when you are trying to maintain your shop...
What a form is...

What You Want:
Text:
Colors:
Render:
Etc.

Basically this is used to clear up confusion make it easier for your customers to request something

Chapter 6: Keeping Your Shop Clean

Some good Ways, to keep your shop clean and spam free is to contact a admin/mod...If someone is having a talk about something unrelated your shop you can PM a Mod/Admin to delete those post's...

Set some rules down... A good way to reduce spam is to make rules one of the best rules out there is to make it to where people with under 100 post's cannot request anything...

Suggestions and feedback are highly appreciated just tell me what it is and I will update over time.

Very nice. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if this thread got stickied someday. Really informative and precise. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. I can tell it took some time and dedication.

Congrats on such a nice post.

the only criticism that I can say is the one grammar mistake you made. which is" highlight the text you wanna hide"

should be "highlight the text that you want to hide"
