an i3 is far from a good processor for gaming, and i5 is what gets the job done. but any how you could try "G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory" and an MSI Radeon HD 7970 since I see you're on a budget, or an Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 Ti or 660.

The i3 is fine for gaming. If you need a budget Intel processor the i3-4130 will do the job. It is a lower clocked model than the one you chose but they are pretty much identical apart from that.
It uses Hyper Threading tech so its dual core can operate four tasks at one time, effectively becoming a quad core. If you look at benchmarks it does lag behind the i5's but thats expected from a processor that is a fraction of the price.
