I am currently using an old iPhone 4 with an email on iMessage since my current iphone is getting fixed. I am on the newest update and have my Apple ID Email linked to my iphone and it has the check mark, yet iMessage is stuck "Waiting for Activation" so I cant use my email to "text" other iphone users in blue.

Why is this and can anyone help? 50 Rep to whoever does!

I'd say its because its on 2 separate phones maybe.
Also you could always imessage with your phone number

I don't have service on the SIM card that's in my old phone.

Probably because your email is still linked to your other iPhone. Try using a new apple ID.

go into messages and create a message with someone that has imessage if it changes to blue then your imessage is working without it having to say activated
-this happened to me too
