The RAM is for a notebook, not a desktop. I think if you were to upgrade your RAM the best to go with is the 8 GB 1600 mhz by corsair would be what you want. It is what I have and is great.

The RAM definitely won't fit. It's RAM used for laptops.

It's already got 8GB of RAM. If you're sure you need 16GB, you'd need to either get two new 8GB sticks or add another identical 8GB stick, depending on what it shipped with.

The V700 is insane overkill, but I would suggest a PSU upgrade unless the one they included is of quality. If you post it's model number, I can tell you. If you do need a new unit, though...

So with the RAM i have, does it have to be the same one? or can someone find me another 8GB stick that would work? preferably on amazon

If you mismatch DIMMs, you can have unpredictable incompatibility issues even if they have the same specifications. Get the same model number if you can.

What do you need 16GB of RAM for, though? Do you have two 4GB sticks or one 8GB stick? I assume you have two memory slots.
