I used to be able to change my ip easily by just clicking release and renew on 192.168.1.1 and now it wont change? is there another way i have verizon fios.

Try resetting your router for 15 mins.

I was going say try reseting it for 1 hour but you might not wanna do that it is up to you

You don't even have to reset your router for that long. Just flip it off for like 30 seconds, flip it back on, and let it boot up again. You should have a new ip. If you don't, you might have a static ip address, which does not change when you reset your router.

How can you change your ip to static? because i run a minecraft server and it is really annoying when the ip changes all the time.

i would like to know this as well.. i quit minecraft after i lost my last server ( couldnt remember the ip )

You don't change your IP to static, your router is either static or dynamic which means that it either won't change your IP when you go offline or it will.

im dynamic i just checked again to make sure i will try resetting it for like 15 mins if i have to

Try calling your isp and tell them u have a dynamic and wanna change your ip and done

I could do that but i always end up wanting or needing to change my ip frequently so it would be too annoying and take to long to call each time i needed it done...
