I've had my XBOX for roughly 5 years now (it's really old) and recently I got a PS4. For nostalgia purposes I decided to fire up my XBOX again. But every time I put a disk in the tray it closes and then the laser clicks twice then it says "Open Tray". I've heard of the double click error where you sometimes have to whack it when it's spinning but that didn't work for me. And I've tried cleaning it, blowing air into it and everything! It still won't work :////// Anyone got any ideas please respond ASAP!

Open the disk tray, when closing it, bash the top of your xbox 3 times with your contoller ( the holding bit) keep doing it until it closes then repeat if it doesn't work first time. It worked for me.

Had the same issue a while back. I opened the Xbox up using a set of Torx screwdrivers, found my way to the laser and gave it a clean. Ever since then it has read discs perfectly fine.

I'll give that a go. But I doubt it would work because the amount of times I've tried it :3

If none of the methods above work you can always buy a replacement dvd drive but make sure its the same model and when you get it just unsolder the pcb from your broken drive and put it into your new drive.

It's worth a go. If you try to no avail then you could always put a new disc drive in or get a new/secondhand Console. I would probably go with the latter.

Clean it out or try tapping it a little on the top. Your laser could be messed up
