Ive been hearing about it all over the news lately, but I don't quite understand the conflict around it. Is it some kind of civil war, or just an excessive amount of violent protests. Ive seen all these horrible pictures/videos about it. Can someone help explain what the heck is going on in Ukraine?

There are basically some Ukrainians who wanted the Ukraine to sign a deal with the European Union, giving Ukraine closer ties with Europe.
The Government decided against it, and is instead leaning more towards agreements with Russia.

Basically, some Ukrainians want to go to the European Union, others want to join back and stay closer with Russia.
There are other smaller reasons too, but that's the main reason.

Obama can gtfo. It is nothing to do with the US, this is between the EU, Ukraine and Russia. America has nothing to do with them.

No, Obama won't bother with them, because heir is no reason to. The US doesn't always get involved with everything.
